Woodside Retreat Pangot Woodside Retreat is a Homestay set amidst an Oak and Rhododendron forest in the mountain village of Pangot, 14 kms from Nainital on the Kilbury Road, at a height of 6,300 feet above sea level nestled in the Kumaon Himalayan region of India. The Reserve forests surrounding Woodside is rich in plant and bird life. The mountain paths in the village make for beautiful nature walks and the drive to Pangot from Nainital offers stunning views of the Himalayan ranges on a day with clear skies. The Cottages Woodside Retreat was built in 1999 as a family home and is an ideal retreat in the mountains a perfect get away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Great care has been taken to provide comfortable facilities in the two cottages. Woodside has 5 double bedrooms in the main lodge and 3 double bedrooms in the stone house. In the main cottage, these are 3 double bedrooms on the ground floor with attached bathrooms and 2 bedrooms rooms on the first floor with an attached bathroom for each bedroom. The first floor can also be used by a large family as an en suite. The main cottage has wooden floors and ceilings. The bathrooms are large with hot and cold water facilities. The lounge has bay windows and a large glass picture window that brings in views of the forests and the valley below. Our stone cottage has three smaller bedrooms with attached bathrooms and a lobby area for the guests. All rooms have attached bathrooms with running hot and cold water. There is a common lounge, one with a pool table and cable TV for in house entertainment. There is a functional fire place in the drawing room which is fired up in winter from wood bought locally from a Government taal. An outdoor gazebo is also available to our guests and one can enjoy the sounds of the forests, while relaxing in the evenings here. As an extension to the lounge there is a large cantilever balcony with deck chairs where guests can have breakfast and enjoy the sun.
